. . . wonderfully written and well developed characters. You’ll
root for Emeline’s escape, cry for her about her past, and
fall in love with Tommy just as she does. As for Tommy, he’s
the kind of man every girl wants…handsome, intelligent, and
just plain sweet. Through his generous spirit and hard work, he
gains some good friends and earns the respect of a few others. This
book was well paced and easy to read…but be careful, it’ll
suck you in and you won’t want to leave it until you’re

Raped and abused by men all her life, Emeline doesn’t trust
easily. Being called ‘slow’ his whole life, Tommy is
also used to being shunned and has no idea how to gain this beauty’s
trust. When these two wounded beings come together, sparks fly as
they must both learn to put their respective pasts behind them in
order to find love and happiness. This is a heartwarming story full
of courage and determination and I highly recommend it!

This book had it all, a love story that could so happen. I mean,
come on, we all never think we are good enough for the one we love,
until we take that chance and show our hearts. If you have not read
this great story, buy it now, you will not be sorry.
-Nicole Harvey,
Enchanted in Romance
Atypical
hero, Tommy, is Emeline's saving grace; the light at the end of
the tunnel, if you will. Friend and confidante, lover and champion,
he's a quiet force of nature: a man of few words but deep, compelling
complexity and fierce, passionate loyalty. Together, they compliment
each other's strengths and weaknesses and set lazy, tantalizing
flame to a powerful but quiescent chemistry. Of course, Ms. Shoup's
protagonists will have to overcome prejudice and insecurity (and
a visit from Em's past) before they can admit that they are, in
fact, one-hundred-percent right for each other.
Jane E. Shoup, likewise, is a perfect fit for the romance genre.
You can't go far wrong when you mix talent with dark-edged drama,
compelling characterizations and unique points of interest (such
as a soft-spoken but sexy hero). Nice guys always finish first in
my book!

Wright
and Wrong is a beautifully written romance novel. It will take you
on an emotional roller coaster ride. There are times to laugh and
times that you will hurt for Tommy and how he feels about himself.
Wright and Wrong is action-packed as Sonny continues his quest to
add Em to his whorehouse. Wright and Wrong is one of the most heart-rending
novels I have read in a long time. I recommend this novel and it
will be added to the stack we all have of novels to be shared but
not gotten rid of. Jane E. Shoup writes an entertaining and interesting
story regardless of the genre.

Jane
Shoup has written an endearing love story of courage and inner strength,

Reader at Heart 'Top Pick': WRIGHT AND WRONG is a fabulous read.
It grabbed my attention from the first page and kept my attention
to the very end. I especially liked the hero, Tommy Medlin. He’s
not your usual hero, but he’s strong and bighearted and gallant.
The heroine, Emeline, was wonderful and any woman will relate to
her fears and her triumphs. All the secondary characters are so
well-developed that you’ll feel you’ve met them somewhere
before. I highly recommend this book.

"I highly recommend this story. Just the type to curl up with
on a wet afternoon, because it is a book the reader will want to
finish in one sitting! It is too good to put down"
.
. .though the genre is obviously historical romance, there is an
element of suspense included as well. There were a number of subplots
within the main one that cleverly encourage the reader to continue
on. When I picked up Wright and Wrong I was expecting a similar
formula used by the standard historical. I was surprised by the
depravities Ms Shoup touched on, from rape to a little light bondage
and ménage. One would think these things are out of place
in a historical romance, but the fact is these things happened then
as they do now. Ms Shoup dealt with these situations with finesse.
All
the reader needs to know is this: through a range of adversities,
two lonely outcasts make their way home, stronger through their
suffering. Wright and Wrong is a touching story that should not
be missed, especially if you love a happily ever after ending.

There are times when a book is so outstanding that you wonder how
you will possibly write a review worthy of it; such is the case
with Pedestals. The characters are well defined, extremely likeable
and believable, and the storyline flows without a flaw. You are

the serial killings. This is one work I am proud to recommend, well
worth your time.

PEDESTALS
is a thrilling suspense-filled story, filled with paranormal overtones.
Jane Shoup has done a wonderful job of pulling us into the action,
right along with the rest of the characters. We feel Cameron’s
heartache with Cassie being missing, her attraction to Jack. We
feel Jack’s attraction to Cameron and his desire to find Cassie
before it’s too late. We even become pulled in to the psychic’s
feelings as she “realizes” different things about the
case. This is a very well-written story and I highly recommend it
to all lovers of suspense!

What
makes PEDESTALS a refreshing exciting police procedural is the attitude
of a bone wary dedicated cop who knows that he can no long give
it his best. Still as his superior, who knows Jack, insists, he
remains one of the elite guns so Jack reluctantly investigates two
cases, one because he is attracted to and admires the dedicated
guardian and the other because he knows the Feds are failing and
someone will die because of that. Jane Shoup provides a top echelon
mystery that readers will cherish and want Jack and Carson to star
in future tales.
Harriet Klausner
The Reader’s Guild
There
are many things that make “Pedestals” a worthy read.
From fast-paced action to humor, author Jane Shoup delivers a consistent
and clear work of fiction. Although a work of fiction, “Pedestals”
brings to life serious questions about ethics, the right to choose
your children’s features in the womb, and the price some people
are willing to pay for the ‘perfect’ child. A fertility
clinic headed by an evil doctor with a grand dream is only part
of the story. What is most impressive about “Pedestals”
is that it could really happen. This is not a story being told a
long time ago or taking place in an alternate universe. The disturbing
and brilliant part of this book is that it is real. Sadly enough,
scary things are happening in the world every day.
There
is enough left open at the end to create a sequel, and Shoup has
the talent and the vision to keep her characters going long into
the future. Jack and his partner, his new unlikely family, and a
doctor with a dark passion may come back to life time and time again.

the cat, but instead led it to the past. Jane Shoup has a creative
mind that proves anything is possible. You’ll be pulled in

its self to Kate. From August’s will to the hidden rooms in
the house, August guides Kate through time and space to places long

within the paradox of time travel. In fact, once you start, you

'In
a story narrated by a long time servant of Crimson Hall, we are
given a tale about the family that resides there and the curse of
the Barrett Wives.
Thomas
Barrett has three daughters, each of whom he loves dearly. The problem
in this household is that he can never keep a wife; each of the
three so far has died either while they were with child or after
giving birth. He has since settled on a fourth wife, and, as luck
would have it, she becomes pregnant. Haunted by the curse, she is
being driven mad with paranoia that her doom is near. Will she make
it or will the curse condemn her as well? One thing is for sure:
this family is a riot.
With
charismatic charm, this tale is told with such tenderness that you
can’t help but be endeared. You’ll be unable to hold
in the infectious laughter you get with all the childhood ranting
between siblings, and you will find it easy to lose yourself into
the appeal of Crimson Hall. Listening to it from the eyes of a servant

'Thaddeus Barrett is a compassionate father who loves his children
dearly. He is also independently wealthy, grows hemp on his plantation,
and spends time in his laboratory with dreams of inventing medicinal
uses for his crops. Thaddeus’ sixteen year-old daughter, Felicity,
is a bit self-centered and seeks to convince her father that she
needs a personal maid and the most beautiful coming out party ever.
Thaddeus’ thirteen year-old twins, Grace and Amelia, try -
and succeed - in irritating their older sister. They’re as
charming as they are mischievous. Amelia became deaf and dumb, the
result of the same fever that took her mother’s life, the
second and most beloved of Thaddeus’ wives. Though Amelia
can’t speak, she communicates with Grace via mental thoughts,
which leads to many humorous moments.
Then
Thaddeus hires an assistant, Mr. Eli Somerset, who takes an inordinate
interest in Thaddeus’ medicinal experiments with hemp. Soon
the children’s Aunt Claire arrives, the sister of Thaddeus’
second wife. Kind and soft-spoken, she soon sparks Barbara’s
jealousy. Slowly, the idyllic world of Crimson Hall changes, bringing
with it tragedy and a thoroughly unforgettable ending.
